the rugged, untouched beauty of the North, from Nunavut
to Greenland and through Lancaster Sound. On board was our
own Bob Amirault... Read

In
the fall of 2005 representatives of the "Hayastan"
All-Armenian Fund, Toronto Branch, asked me if I would accept
a commission to paint a portrait of an English Baroness.
It was to be a surprise gift and be presented to her at
a fund raising dinner in June 2006. Baroness Caroline Cox,
considered one of the great humanitarians in the
world today, is the deputy-speaker of the House
of Lords, appointed by Margaret Thatcher. Read

AN ARTISTS JOURNEY CONTINUES...
held at the McKay Art Centre

For the last number of years I continue to devote
my full time and attention to pursuing the fine
and challenging craft of painting in oils and
watercolours. I have been able to do this in my
own studio or at many far and interesting locations
that my wife, Mona and I have chosen to visit.
I usually paint small 'studies' at these locations...en
plein air...make sketches or take photographs
for reference. With this information and some
'imagineering' I create large paintings in the
comfort of my home studio, not having to worry
about the weather, bugs, etc., even though painting
outside does add spontaneity to a work.
Our travels have taken us as far as the Middle East,
to visit our son Mark who works there, to Nova Scotia
and Newfoundland, visiting many attractions in southern
Ontario, including Killarney, Haliburton, Algonquin
and the Collingwood area. I continue to revisit
places in my mind, places we traveled to years ago...
France, England, to name a few, and paint the emotion
and impressions that still linger with me.
Regards,
 |
